The ancestral seat of the Marquises of Aldridge is Kinleven House. It became part of the Chillingham and later the Haverford estates when the daughter of the last Scots Marquis of Aldridge, a courtier of James VI who became James 1 of England, married Baron Chillingham and gave birth to a son who inherited both titles.

The marquisate owns many properties throughout Scotland, but Kinleven Houseis one of the grandest and most gracious.
